Making Moments on your Wedding Day

As a wedding photographer, one of the biggest pieces of advice I can give to couples is to plan out special moments throughout their day to elevate the quality of their photographs.

By planning out these special moments and working with your photographer, you can create a collection of truly stunning and memorable wedding photos that you'll cherish for years to come.

Here are a few ideas for creating standout moments:

Champagne

Champagne Pop: This fun, celebratory moment can be captured during preparation and with the bridal party after the ceremony. It adds a touch of whimsy and excitement to your photos and is always a hit with the bridal party. Pro Tip: buy a super cheap bottle of champagne for the pops, then have a stand by bottle ready to actual drink with your crew.

Confetti

Confetti: Throwing confetti during your aisle walk can add a pop of colour and fun to your photos. Just be sure to choose sustainable options, like biodegradable paper confetti or rice, to minimize the environmental impact.

Golden Hour

Golden Hour: If possible, try to factor in Golden Hour into your timeline. This is the time just before sunset when the lighting is soft and golden, creating a warm, romantic atmosphere. It's a perfect time for intimate couples' portraits.

Location

Secret Photo Spots: Talk to your venue about any hidden gems or secret photo spots on the premises or nearby. These can be a great way to add some variety to your photos and capture some unique and memorable location shots.

Sparklers

Sparkler Photos: Instead of a sparkler exit, consider gathering your bridal party or a small group of people to take a sparkler photo sometime after dinner or just after it has gotten dark. This allows your photographer to direct a small group and get a better photo before everyone starts drinking. Plus, it's a fun and memorable way to end the evenings photos.
