Fingal Bay Wedding Photography & Videography – Connor & Laura

We first connected with Connor and Laura through a local Facebook group for couples seeking wedding help, and it was clear from the start that these two were dream clients. They were looking for a photographer who could capture their wedding professionally but also vibe with them and party into the evening. That’s exactly what we strive for—and it was an instant connection.

After a few video chats and an engagement shoot in Swansea, we locked in their wedding date with our Full Day Plus Package, which included 8 hours of coverage, two shooters, a highlight film, ceremony film, speeches film, and a first dance film. We even added some social media reels to share snippets of their big day.


A Beautiful Weekend at Fingal Bay

Nicole and I decided to make a weekend of Connor and Laura’s wedding, as Fingal Bay is absolutely stunning. We rented an Airbnb right on the beach, and as we arrived, I realized we were staying right next door to the bride and groom! It couldn’t have worked out better—we were able to get ready in our cozy space and then walk next door to meet Connor, the groomsmen, and his family for some pre-wedding shots. Their accommodation had perfect natural light and a beautiful garden, making for the ideal setting for some relaxed, candid moments.

We then made our way next door to meet Laura and her bridal party. Their accommodation was a combined two-unit space, offering just the right amount of privacy while keeping them close. Laura chose to have a first look with her dad, which was a heartwarming moment that brought out the tears. After this emotional exchange, we were off to their ceremony location just down the road.


The Ceremony at Saltwater Restaurant

The ceremony took place at Saltwater Restaurant in Fingal Bay, perched right above the Surf Life Saving Club and overlooking the stunning beach. This location is perfect for couples who, like Connor and Laura, feel most at home by the water.

The ceremony was officiated by Jake of Marry Me Cupid, who blended heartfelt words with just the right amount of humor, making the ceremony feel fresh, modern, and memorable. After the vows, we captured a group photo and some family shots on the lawn before heading into the bridal party photos.


Photos at the Beach & Barry Park

With the ceremony behind us, we headed to the beach connected to Saltwater Restaurant. The wind added a magical, salty atmosphere to our photos—perfect for this coastal wedding. Afterward, we drove to Barry Park, where the golden afternoon light filtered through the trees, creating a dreamlike setting for our couple shoot. This park also had a coastal lookout that offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.


The Reception: Flawless Flow & Fun

Jake, our celebrant and MC, also worked his magic during the reception. While we were slightly behind schedule, Jake kept everything running smoothly, coordinating between the vendors to ensure that the timeline adjustment wouldn’t affect the meal service. It’s moments like these when having a professional MC can truly make all the difference in the world!

Newcastle & Lake Mac DJs provided top-notch sound for the evening, with a main PA system and an additional one near the bride and groom to ensure clear, crisp speeches. Afterward, they transitioned the first dance into an epic dance floor, getting everyone on their feet for a night of celebration.
